Peter has had a long and varied career. After University he started out as a Police Detective in the UK but, after gaining his MBA from Durham University, he moved to Asia in 1995 to become an equities analyst. Initially a banking sector specialist, Peter eventually became a Research Head in Thailand and then Hong Kong. He was voted the number one analyst in China and Hong Kong several times in the Institutional Investor magazine. Ultimately Peter became Head of Asian Research for JPMorgan and later Head of Research in Europe for JPMorgan based in The City of London. Peter’s last research role in the financial markets was as Global Head of Research for Macquarie. As well as his career in Finance Peter is an Angel investor and has had numerous positions on listed and unlisted company and charities Boards. He is the Chairman of Lex Academic. Peter’s first love is Emerging Markets so the chance of running a team in Vietnam was too good to miss. The HSC team is the strongest and most experienced in the market and HSC dominates investment flows from institutional investors. Peter writes market strategy and is bullish on the long-term prospects of Vietnam as a country and financial market.
